PostHeaderIcon Support Walgreens Prescription Savings Club

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walgreens is a household name as common as that of Wal-Mart. But unlike Wal-Mart which offers everything any family is in need of, Walgreens provides access to consumer goods and services and pharmacy, health and wellness services in America.

We all know that health is wealth right? But taking care of one’s health doesn’t mean that it should cost a fortune. It is one of the most basic things that we have and should never be taken away from us. And Walgreens has come up with a way to providing excellent service without asking for too much in return.

Walgreens has also tried to accommodate consumers by making their branches accessible by expanding all over the country. As of June 2011, Walgreens has 7,733 stores nation-wide (information from the net) and more maybe coming in the next year. This makes it easier for anyone and everyone to find the nearest local branch.

Any family, looking to save more while getting the right service, should visit Walgreens and find out how to take advantage of the benefits that they offer.

One of the latest updates from Walgreens is the new Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, which offers a variety of promos that anyone can take advantage of. Some of the details are as follows:

  • A $10 membership fee for one year that includes immediate family members as spouse, children 22 years old and below and their household pets. Or a $5 for an individual membership.
  • Discounts on more than 8,000 name brand and generic medicines
  • Savings on nebulizer, flu shots and diabetic supplies and pet medicines
  • Added bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and avail of photofinishing services

Support Walgreens to help them continue with this endeavor that benefits so many people by liking Walgreens on Facebook and be follower of Walgreens on Twitter

PostHeaderIcon Garlic Pan de Sal Bread

It’s so nice to eat freshly baked out of the oven bread in the morning either with fried eggs, hotdogs or with any spread together with your cup of coffee, isn’t it?  Though you don’t need to bake it by yourself as there are many bakeries in the neighborhood to buy them. In our place, every morning even before the sun came up, there’s a young boy selling freshly baked breads (pandesal) and as he stopped in front of every house, he will yell “hot pandesal”. And every day it became a habit to buy even if there were still some left-over pandesals  from the other day.

These breads have three to four days shell life, just store them in an air tight container to prevent from getting hard. As they were filing-up in my bread box, I decided to re baked them instead of disposing. To give them a new flavor, I used garlic and turned them into garlic bread. :)

  • Cut the bread into halves.
  • Spread butter in one side.
  • Grate the garlic using a cheese grater, it’s easier this way to get all the juices of the garlic.
  • Scoop the juicy fine shredded garlic with finger and rub to the buttered bread.
  • Placed them in the oven toaster and toast for 10 minutes or until the breads were slightly browned and crispy.

Another variation is using brown sugar instead of garlic to make a sweet toasted bread. This way no food will gone to waste.

PostHeaderIcon Love Sweet Foods? Love Your Teeth too..

Who could ever resists sweets, the cakes, candies, ice creams and chocolates? Not me for sure, I was born with a sweet tooth. lol. Dental hygiene is what our parents kept reminding us, to brush our teeth after eating those delectable food but often times specially as kids, we forgot. Our friendly dentists are delightful to see us and advice to have our teeth cleaned at least once every six months for cavity prevention. Though we want to, the dental check-up and treatment are quite costly. Good thing there is now a dental plan you can avail to provide for your medical expenses. With all the benefits of a dental discount plan you need not worry if your budget can not accommodate those treatments as these will be shouldered by your dental plan provider.

If only Ameriplan is available here, I wouldn’t have second thoughts of getting their Dental Plus Package with only $19.95 a month, the whole family or anyone living in the same household can avail of their Dental, Vision, Prescription and Chiropractic discount program. But I would definitely recommend this to my brother and sis-in-law as their whole family is now a resident there.
