Fish Balls



Fish ball is a popular street food and can be found in every corner of busy places, it is a street food, so the hygiene of how it was done is a big question, to make sure you can make one youself at your own home. Here's the recipe:

2 cups white fish, steamed and flaked
1 med.-sized onion, finely chopped

1/2 tsp garlic minced

1/2 tsp baking powder
oil for frying
1 egg, lightly beaten

1/3 cup milk
1 tsp flour
1/2 tsp salt and pepper each

4 white bread crumbs

1 tsp green onions, chopped

Combine liquid ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix fish flakes and all dry ingredients in egg-milk mixture except flour and blend well. Pre-heat cooking oil before frying fishballs. Drop fish batter by rounded teaspoonfuls in oil and fry to a golden brown. Drain excess fat Place fried balls on a serving platter and serve with any sauce of your choice. Catchup, vinegar with minced garlic or sweet and sour sauce.

There's no street vendors in San Francisco and I know Asian countries have street vendors that sell fish balls and all these other goodies. I love fish balls with my seafood noodle soup. Fried ones are great too.
