Paksiw na Pata

Delicious and easy to prepare.


1 whole pork leg chopped (pata)
dried banana blossoms (bulaklakng saging)
1 medium size onion
2 pcs. bay leaves
2 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar or as desired
1/2 tsp. pepper corn
5 pcs saging na saba (banana)
1/3 cup cornstarch mixed in water (flour is a good substitute for cornstarch)


In a big hallow pan, put chopped pork leg and onion, simmer and bring to a boil and let the pork cooked till tender. When tender add all the remaining ingredients except cornstarch, simmer again until the bananas are cooked, then taste to your desired sweetness and last add the mixture of cornstarch and water to thickened the sauce turn off the heat.
